This is my first playthrough and it’s not there. I’ve done every assassinstion quest and Tannith takes me to boss area. I’ve died at least 10 times. The serpent part is definitly beatable with a normal melee weapon. Whenever the serpent goes for any bites you can get 1 or 2 hits in. Considering how predictable the serpent is after dying a few times to it, it is far from impossible to win with a normal weapon. The Rykard half on the other hand is just impossible without the Serpent Hunter.The sword heals you which is nice.Rykard is the final boss of Volcano Manor, a lava-filled dungeon found on Mt. Gelmir.
