Trail up to Lonesome Lake is very packed (though spikes are still useful); the upper parts of Fishin’ Jimmy are pretty icy and required some careful maneuvering in 4-5 spots. Phone died so the trail time is a bit off—it took us about five hours not including a long stop at the hut for late lunch on the way back.Lonesome Lake is gorgeous with mountains in the distance. You need to hike to the hut where there is a place to eat and swim. The hut is across the lake from where the main trail ends - so hike around the whole lake. The hike around the lake is on flat boards that keep you out of the ground water - but is flat and very nice.
